Message from Dr. Williams on COVID-19 Response
Message from R. Tracy Williams, OD, FAAO – Executive Director Spectrios Institute for Low Vision
For 34 years, the Spectrios Institute (formerly the Deicke center) has been committed to providing accredited low vision rehabilitation services to children and adults with vision loss. We have always been concerned with the safety and well-being of our staff and the people we serve.
At our “Yellow House of Hope” we have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and we remain updated with the very latest information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), governmental agencies, local health officials, and our own health team, to set all precautions in place to meet posing Coronavirus-related risk.
As a result of this, we have decided that it is in the best interests of our patients and staff that we will be closing the clinic through at least March 27. We will be re-evaluating things the week of March 23 to determine if we need to remain closed longer. Someone from our office will be contacting you to reschedule your appointments, so you do not need to call.
As we go through this difficult time we will be working with patients who have urgent needs to try and ensure that you receive the best care possible. We will be monitoring our voicemail daily and returning calls within 24 hours.
Please don’t let fear and panic overwhelm you. Keep informed, follow guidelines, share and help others when possible.
Please stay healthy and we look forward to serving you soon.
Dr. R. Tracy Williams
