Vital Vision
Campaign
Launching a New Era of Access, Innovation, and Independence
As we begin our 40th year of serving individuals with vision loss, Spectrios Institute for Low Vision is proud to launch the Vital Vision Campaign — a renewed commitment to expanding access, advancing clinical excellence, and empowering lifelong independence for every person we serve.
This milestone year invites us to honor our history while boldly investing in our future. The Vital Vision Campaign represents that next step forward. It strengthens the programs that define Spectrios, supports the technology and expertise that set us apart, and ensures that individuals with vision loss have the tools, training, and support they need to thrive.
We launch this campaign with a clear goal: to build a stronger, more sustainable foundation for the future of low‑vision rehabilitation.
the Spectrios Grand Prize Game
During the Vital Vision Campaign, we will be playing the “Spectrios Grand Prize Game” and we need you to play along with us! As this campaign moves forward, we will be trying to hit each of our Buckets of Hope. By hitting each bucket, we are building a strong foundation of sustainability to carry our Mission forward to the next generation.
Vital Vision Campaign Goals
$2 Million
We are raising $2 million dollars during the Vital Vision Campaign that will go to ensuring that the essential services and programs offered by Spectrios Institute for Low Vision are available for future generations.
100% Participation
In honor of our 40th Anniversary, this campaign celebrates the people who make Spectrios Institute for Low Vision possible-patients, families, partners, and supporters. Every gift and every story strengthens the mission and extends its reach. Whether through donation or by sharing your experience, your participation helps ensure that more individuals with vision loss receive the care, tools, and hope they deserve.
Buckets of Hope
This year, Spectrios Institute for Low Vision celebrates our 40th Anniversary. To mark the momentous occasion, we are embarking on our Vital Vision Campaign. With this campaign, we are raising $2 million dollars so that the Spectrios Legacy of Hope will continue for the next 40 years.
Seeing Is Believing
Seeing Is Believing is our in-school outreach program providing K–12 students with low vision across Illinois with free diagnostic services and prescriptive devices. By bringing care into the classroom, students become more competitive academically, can better envision their future careers, and experience a lift in their human spirit.
Access Technology
Access Technology provides essential training in accessibility tools for people with low vision, creating a paradigm shift that can dramatically enhance quality of life and independence. It opens the door to new technologies, empowering individuals to move forward and be defined by their head and heart—not their vision loss.
Compassion Fund
Low vision resources are already scarce, and no one should face additional barriers to care due to financial instability. The Compassion Fund ensures our services remain accessible to all who need them, regardless of income—because our doors are always open to individuals and families seeking support.
House of Hope
The bulk of Spectrios services and support are provided in our Yellow House of Hope. Our home was built during our last capital campaign in 2001 and has allowed our Mission to flourish. Our house is now ageing, and we must ensure that we can take care of this home that has taken such good care of us.
Institute
With a growing need for low vision care, Spectrios Institute trains professionals in essential low vision services to help close the gap in care for both children and adults. By preparing the next generation of specialists, advancing research, and exploring the potential for Houses of Hope around the world, the Institute ensures this life-changing work continues to reach those who need it most.
Legacy
Through the Vital Vision Campaign, we are building a sustainable foundation to carry our mission forward, ensuring people with vision loss have access to a future of independence for as long as it’s needed.
$40 for 40
In celebration of 40 years of impact, a contribution of $40 for 40 invites everyone to take part in the Vital Vision Campaign and demonstrate a commitment to the next generation of individuals with vision loss.
As generations continue to age, the need for low vision services will grow. Your support ensures that these vital services will remain available to adults and children with vision loss.
You can choose to make a $40 donation, or more, every month for the entire year to show your deep commitment to supporting people with vision loss or make it a one-time donation and be part of this Vital Vision Campaign.
