I was born premature with ROP but didn’t come to Spectrios until I was in my 30’s. My first visit was as a DHS (IDORS) patient in the late 80s. Although I saw a doctor at Wheaton Eye Clinic, I was not referred to Spectrios until meeting with Don Davia, my rehab counselor. I was one of the early patients seen within the first 3 years we were open.

A Trip to Cosley Zoo with Grandma Martyl’s Low Vision Day Camp

This summer, I had the opportunity to tag along on a trip to Cosley Zoo in Wheaton, IL with the Grandma Martyl Low Vision Day Camp. At the zoo, I was able to meet some fun creatures as well as meet the 2026 camp crew. Afterwards, we had lunch with the Wheaton Lions who graciously hosted us at their monthly meeting.
